The program is the first national program specializing in leadership succession in the water sector, and it embodies the Saudi Water Authority’s direction towards building a sustainable national leadership system, through the development and qualification of (100) male and female leaders from the water sector system in its first edition, with the participation of representatives from the public, private and non-profit sectors, within a development journey that extends for (12) months, and in partnership with a number of local and international specialized universities and institutes.

It includes advanced development tracks covering the most prominent strategic and leadership areas in the sector, including leadership and strategic decision-making, governance, policies and regulations, integrated management and sustainability of water resources, crisis management and business continuity, digital transformation, institutional innovation, development of financial and commercial capabilities, and raising operational efficiency.

The launch of the program comes as an extension of the Saudi Water Authority’s efforts to build specialized national capabilities, and in response to the rapid transformations taking place in the water sector, and the growing requirements it imposes for preparing leaders who possess the specialized knowledge and leadership competence necessary to lead institutional transformation, enhance integration, and raise performance efficiency and sustainability.
