SWA Issues Two Water Law Violations in Jeddah, Imposes SAR 130,000 in Fines

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) issued two decisions for violations of the Water Law against two establishments in Jeddah, following the completion of inspection and verification processes and the confirmation of violations in accordance with the published decisions.


Under Decision No. (2209), SWA fined Sulaiman Ibrahim Ali Al Hassani Water Transport and Distribution Company SAR 100,000 for illegally connecting to the water network. The entity is also required to bear the full cost of repairing the damage it caused, as well as compensation for the lost benefit.


Under Decision No. (2881), SWA fined Milon Abadi Barranquilal SAR 30,000 for tampering with the cover of a sewer inspection chamber by discharging wastewater of unknown source. The violator is also required to bear the full cost of repairing the damage caused.


SWA emphasized that these measures fall within its regulatory mandate to enforce the provisions of the Water Law and its implementing regulations, in a manner that ensures the protection of facilities and infrastructure and the continuity of service.
