The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) announced today, as part of the events of the Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS), the results of “Miyahthon 2025” challenge, following evaluation stage and selection of the most viable solutions in the fields of water, desalination, treatment, and water infrastructure management.
Miyahthon was launched over the past months with the participation of more than 1,500 contestants in the initial stage, from which more than 60 teams qualified for the on-site phase. The program also delivered 106 technical and entrepreneurial advisory sessions, with the participation of 22 specialized experts, as part of an intensive track aimed at developing solutions and business models.
During IDWS, 13 winning teams were honored in the current edition. Based on the evaluation results, these teams will advance to incubation and acceleration programs operated by the Saudi Water Innovation Center (SWIC), with the objective of developing prototypes, transforming them into scalable commercial projects, and strengthening the presence of national technologies in the water market.
The list of winning teams this year included innovative solutions from Separation Membrane Innovation (SMI), Rataq, Smart Core, AquaVolt, VibraFlow, and Mizan for Technical Solutions, in addition to AquaTwin, NuPlasTec, Hisn, Smart Green Solutions, HYDROMINE, Earth Pulse, and Bab Al-Ibtikar.
Miyahthon is considered one of the national initiatives aimed at empowering researchers and entrepreneurs to transform innovative ideas into practical, implementable solutions through an integrated ecosystem that includes mentoring, business model development, and access to incubation and investment programs, in addition to connecting innovators with government entities and the private sector.
The Miyahthon initiative contributes to supporting emerging technologies in the areas of low-energy desalination, reuse, and smart infrastructure solutions, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a hub for advanced water technologies and contributing to the development of future-ready solutions that support resource sustainability and strengthen the national innovation ecosystem.
