Water Sector Pumps Nearly One Million m³ on Tarwiyah Day, Total Reaches 7 Million m³ Meters Since Start of Dhul-Hijjah

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) announced that the volume of water pumped by the water sector in Makkah and the Holy Sites on Tarwiyah Day (the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah) reached 980,633 cubic meters, as part of an integrated operational plan to ensure highly efficient water supply during the Hajj season.
The total volume of water pumped from the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah until Tarwiyah Day reached 6,899,177 cubic meters, supported by production and transmission capacities exceeding 1.2 million cubic meters per day, and a daily pumping capacity surpassing 1 million cubic meters.
Entities across the water sector worked in full integration to ensure sufficient water supply, safety, and efficient conservation, by applying advanced phased technologies in network management and leveraging the system’s modern infrastructure. These efforts contributed to raising operational quality, alongside the implementation of multiple conservation initiatives led by the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE).
On Tarwiyah Day alone, 4,245 laboratory tests were conducted to ensure water quality and safety as part of a comprehensive monitoring system that supports service sustainability, field performance efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Field inspection teams from the Saudi Water Authority also continued their on-ground visits to pilgrim camps and service facilities in Mina and Arafat to assess water services provided to pilgrims on Tarwiyah Day and prepare for the Day of Arafah. The total number of inspections carried out exceeded 5,500 tours.
