293 Innovators Compete in "Mubtakeron" Hackathon to Find Creative Solutions in the Water Sector

The Saudi Water Authority organized the "Mubtakeron" Hackathon from May 27 to 29, with 293 competitors representing 65 teams competing over three days in 5 different tracks to find creative solutions for developing the water sector in the Kingdom, enhancing its leadership and capabilities in facing global challenges.


The hackathon, which was launched under the title "SWA thon" in Riyadh, concluded after intense competition among innovators who presented approximately 5,500 creative ideas and 65 innovations within five practical tracks. These tracks included harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution and utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, enhancing the experience of the beneficiaries of the Authority's services, operational excellence which includes achieving and maintaining operational excellence by improving the quality of the Authority's products and processes and simplifying work procedures, enhancing environmental solutions and sustainability by focusing on developing possible ideas and solutions to create an integrated and sustainable work environment in the Authority, in addition to the track of creating an innovation culture which focuses on building and developing creative initiatives and practices in the Authority.


The hackathon supports the Authority's goals in adopting creative talents, driving them towards innovation and entrepreneurship, creating a motivating success environment that encourages creativity in innovating pioneering technical projects, achieving a high level of professional performance, and raising performance efficiency, in line with the Authority's strategic role in organizing and developing the water sector and enhancing the Kingdom's global leadership.
