SWA Wins Two Global Awards in Project Management at PMI PMO Global Awards

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has achieved international recognition by winning two global awards in project management at the PMI PMO Global Awards, in recognition of the excellence of its Project Management Office in the areas of innovation and sustainable practices.


The official website of the prize announced that the Authority, through its operational arm (Water Desalination), won the awards in the categories of "Best Project Management Office in Innovation" and "Best Project Management Office in Sustainable Practices."


This achievement reflects the Authority’s ongoing efforts to implement the latest technological solutions and innovative practices, leading to enhanced work efficiency and the delivery of high-quality services in accordance with international standards. The Authority has also adopted sustainable strategies that aim to balance economic efficiency with environmental responsibility.


In this context, the Authority is implementing a series of large-scale projects aimed at improving water resource management and leveraging modern technologies related to desalination and water transportation. A total of 47 projects have been completed in the fields of production, purification, transportation, and storage, with a total cost of 46.47 billion SAR. Additionally, 60 more projects are currently in the planning stage, reinforcing the Authority’s position as a leader in the development of the water sector both locally and internationally, and confirming its commitment to achieving sustainability and meeting the needs of future generations.
